For the final week of our Inside Look series, Michelle, founder and CEO of Done By 5, shares her tips on staying organized during the her busy week. Michelle’s role in the Done By 5 team is unique because she spends most of her work day in office with many of our clients and the evening going over virtual tasks and checking-in with our exclusively virtual clients. In order to juggle not only our client’s work, her own small business, and her personal life, Michelle is learning how to effectively stay organized.
This week, for our Inside Look series, Samantha is diving into how she tackles Pinterest and uses it as a tool to not only share the Done By 5 content (like this blog) but also direct traffic and potential clients to our website. Here is what she has learned the past 2 months through Pinterest and the utilization of the scheduling platform Tailwind.
Done By 5 has been growing a lot this year and as our team and our client base grows so do our skills! Some of our work has been into “uncharted” territory while other work has just been about gaining habits and routines to help balance and manage the busy and ever evolving tasks we are taking on. We’re pretty excited about some of the things we’ve been learning and “mastering” and want to share what each of us has been tackling.
Have you ever noticed how much music is present in our daily lives? Music sets a tone and helps create a very specific environment which is why stores and offices will play curated playlists to encourage focus or to sell a product or experience. Music is a beautiful and powerful tool that stimulates brain activity and can trigger certain emotional response and memories, and encourage great creativity!
Let's face it....raising prices is awkward. No one wants to pay higher prices for the products and services they love. But when your clients and customers appreciate the quality of what you offer them, they understand the value that you put on it. Occasional price increases are part of a thriving small business and there are ways to best break the news to your customers and communicate the value of your work. Here are 5 keys to writing a successful price increase letter or announcement.
Happy Earth Day! At Done By 5 we love Earth Day! It is the one day that people across the world come together and celebrate the beautiful planet we all share and call home. Not only is it a day to get up, get out, and enjoy the outdoors, it is a reminder that we only have one place to call home and we must take care of it.
You’ve made it through yet another tax season and your free as a bird for the next year! But wait! At Done By 5 we say you have one more thing to do…reward yourself! The completion of your taxes marks, not only your freedom from your desk and calculator, but also another year as a successful business with many great accomplishments, and time to plan even more exciting endeavors. So you deserve some celebration.
The internet has made it a lot easier to be a small business owner these days. It has been one of my greatest resources since I ventured into the world of being a virtual/business assistant for small business owners almost 10 years ago and still proves to be just as useful for myself and my team every day. When I started Done By 5, I would read the blogs from “well-known” big companies but found myself turning to advice from fellow small business owners and bloggers more often than not. Blogs are a great resource for relatable and digestible information!
We don’t know about where you live, but spring has finally sprung in the San Francisco Bay Area, and it is great! Everything is waking up from plants bursting into colorful bloom, to birds chirping with spring fever! Even the warmth of the sun and that much needed vitamin D seems to be recharging us with the motivation to be active and to create. It is the perfect time to capitalize on that energy and get everything done that you may have put off during winter.
